When Is the Best Time

To avoid the crowds at Tulum early morning and late afternoon is the best time. Great to experience the sunrise together with the ruins. The dry season from December to April. This time of the year is the busiest season with a visitor peak in December and January. Yucatan is popular for American and European as well. Fewer crowds in April and great weather at the same time.

This ruins are picturesque located at the Caribbean Sea. Tulum is the only Mayan city which was built on the coast for the purpose of having a port for trading.

Oh yes, it can be really full - like my picture shows with many people bathing. But I was happy that the beach is accessible for a cool break. My visit was at the beginning of July – and I was fortunate with the rain – but sometimes the clouds give some mystic impression. The last picture shows the beach. Iguanas are also present
