There are 111 hiking trails in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate which are called "Traumschleifen"; that means a dream of circular hiking trails. These trails are perfectly marked with the information of the next intermediate hiking target, the distance you've already hiked, how long you still have to walk and the next highlight on your trail. The trails are abundant in variety and always even better than expected.

This trail is almost 16 km long, up and downhill elevation of 563 meters. It takes 4-5 hours. The trail leads along creek valleys, to the castle of Montclair, adventurous footpaths through nature protected areas and to the highlight the Cloef vantage point to the Saar-loop. This trail is also called Tafeltour which means there are several restaurants and cafes along or close to the trail for a nice break. Sandstone is ubiquitous in this area, therefore, the red color of the stream.

After less than 6 km you reach the river Saar where you have to take the passenger ferry.
