Rock of Cashel

When Is the Best Time

Fascinating historic site year-round. However, it gets crowded especially during the busy summer months. To AVOID CROWDS be there early right before they open at 9:00 AM. It's least crowded from 9 until 10 AM. The average visitor spends 1,5 hours there. Alternatively be there 1-2 hours before they close and stay until the end. During that last hour it's less crowded as well.

The best months with decent weather to avoid crowds after the busy summer is from mid-September until October.

Review and Tips

Historic Buildings and Cathedral with a history of more than 9 hundred years.
Also a nice view to the surrounding country because it is located on a small hill.

When traveling the motorway M8 it is a nice break and almost no detour: On your way to Kerry or back to Dublin - it is directly located at the motorway M8

The parking place did advertise : Free entry to the Rock of Cashel when you spend € 15 in town (voucher required) - so if You like shopping - do this first !
