Review and Tips

3 mile round trip, plan about 2 hours; trail leads out from the parking lot, not much shade along the way, so the earlier you start, the better. And bring sunscreen and a hat and water! great views along the trail as you climb, plenty of cactus. Trail ends near boulders with Native American pictographs, look around, there are several. If it recently rained, you'll see small pools of water among the boulders. Several lizards scurrying about. Some pretty large Saguaros nearby.

Hiker 5, do you know how old this pictographs are? Do you know more about the history of the native American rock art? Like to know more about it.

located in the Superstition Wilderness Area, these petroglyphs / pictographs were created by the Hohokam People, a civilization that thrived in central and southern Arizona from 500 - 1450 AD. Don't have much more info on the history, but i'm sure you can Google and find something :)
