Review and Tips

The dry season is also the high season and a bit crowded and pricy. A good place to start your wildlife viewing career. Etosha, a huge salt pan offers excellent game viewing and is a good place to do a self-drive with a rental car. It was declared as a National Park in 1907. Etosha means "great white place" in the language of the Ovambo tribe. We recommend combining Etosha with Caprivi and the Okavango in Botswana.

Stunning photos! I also heard that most visitors come during the dry season (June - September) because of the climate. ... and as you wrote it's a little crowded then.

In the rainy season (November > April = summer) everything is a little tricky. Flooded roads and more driving necessary to spot wildlife since the animals aren't concentrated at the waterholes. However, everything is turned into a lush green paradise. Amazing experience as well!
