El Mirlo Beach - Tarifa
Travel Update Summer 2020: Most destinations, sites and parks reopened with limitations. Check the official websites and read our crucial ‘BEST TIME TO GO' and ‘AVOIDING THE CROWDS’ tips:
This marvelous beach is still a hidden gem and mostly the Spanish visit it. Due to the limited parking and accessibility, it can’t get crowded.
Between high- and low tide you can swim in the lagoon. At high tide, the beach is small, and at low tide, the lagoon disappears.
To get to El Mirlo Beach and Restaurant follow the sign to Punta Paloma. First, you pass the huge dune of Valdevaquevos and then a military zone. Afterwards there is a parking to the right which is for free. From here you get to different pretty coves. Keep your wheels inside the white line otherwise you might get a ticket.
If you keep going to the restaurant you get to a parking area with a fee of 5 € and limited space. If you eat in the restaurant, you get the parking fee deducted. We were still hungry after lunch which was a bit pricey. From here it is 5 minutes walk to this beautiful beach. If you walk further more, you get to a small nude beach.
At Google maps the parking place for El Mirlo Beach is marked.
