When Is the Best Time

Where there is rainforest there is rain. It's often wet in the Braulio Carillo the reason for exceptional vegetation. December to April is the dry season. However, be prepared for afternoon showers. It's often foggy in the morning. The day temperatures are in the high 20's°C - low 80's°F.

Highway 32

We made a stop for lunch at Quebrada Gonzales station on the way to the coast to Puerto Viejo. You drive through the breathtaking rainforest on highway 32. Next to the road is the parking and picnic area. The forest is easily accessible. It was not planned to stop here and go hiking. The attentive ranger made us curious to go hiking for a couple of hours while he was having an eye to our car. We were the only visitors in the National Park. It is an awesome rainforest although close to the highway we enjoyed the birdsong and forest in tranquility.
