Review and Tips

The ruin of Ardvreck castle lies near the road A837 near Inchnadamph. It is easily accesible from the road, there is a parking lot and a path to it. It can be visited all year round. Sometimes you can meet sheep near the castle. The castle itself was built around year 1590 by the clan Macleod. People tell legends about the castle and surronding lake. Ask locals to find out more. This castle is a fine place which you can visit when you are just passing through. You can see the massive of Quinag from the castle.

Beautiful ancient castel but I guess bricks can fall down. It's perfect to combine with one of your hikes.

I took this photo last year while heading up to Assynt on holiday,i love the reflection of the Castle in the water, really chuffed with that,we tend to pass Ardvreck Castle a lot on our journeys, always plenty of folk out looking at it and taking pictures.

Gorgeous pictures Priscilla and Bohys! I read that it's awesome when you take photos at full moon!!
Plus my usual question ;) Is it crowded? If yes: Any time of day or season when it's less crowded?
