Ben Boyd National Park was established in 1971. Named after the well-known entrepreneur Benjamin Boyd. The lighthouse was built in 1883 and is 29 meters tall.
Currently, a guided tour was offered each day at 3 p.m. Ask at the information center in Eden for the opening hours first.
The Sapphire Coast has an oceanic climate. Winters are mild, windy and drier with an average day temperature of 7°C. Usually, it's quite hot during summer with a day temperature up to 30°C. Most precipitation between spring and summer. The water temperature is refreshing with more than 20°C from summer until autumn (Dec-April). Autumn still is still pleasant.
Whales migrate along the coast in late winter and spring between May/June until November. It's an excellent spot to spot migrating whales.
Ben Boyd National Park was established in 1971 and located on the beautiful Sapphire Coast.
The red rocks glimmer best in sunlight late morning. The park is only closed at poor weather or fire danger.

Every season has it's one highlight:
- Spring: Is the annual whale season which takes place from May/June to November.
- Summer: Enjoy the beaches and swimming.
- Autumn: Spot the special lyrebirds performing the characteristic dance and tail display.
- Winter: The banksias are in bloom.
