Coire Lagan is a fine place on the Isle of Skye. It is situated in southern part of the famous Cuillin ridge.
This is probably a year round hike but only as long as the weather is decent. The best time with least rainfall is from mid April till the end of May. Can be a bit crowded during summertime. I would recommend to go in the afternoon to experience fine sunset on the way back (of course when the sun is out:-))
The Neist Point Lighthouse is a very popular place. It lies on the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye. It is accessible easily via paved road from Dunvegan.
Neist Point is a very very popular place. During the tourist season it is crowded almost all the time. If you do not want to go in spring/autumn or winter but you want to avoid crowds you have to get up early in the morning. The sunsets are beautiful here so expect a lot of photographers in the evenings. There is a chance to see whales during the summer months.
Rubh' an Dunain is a peninsula on the Isle of Skye near the Glenbrittle village. It is easily accessible via good track. The peninsula itself can be very boggy (good walking boots are essential).
Since the place is easily accessible and the walk is a low level walk it can be done all year round. Sunsets are beautiful in this place. The best weather with the lowest rainfall is usually between April and June.
Sgùrr na Banachdaich is one of the Cuillin Munros, the mountains above 3000 feet. It is considered one of the easiest mountains in the Cuillin ridge to climb yet not to be underestimated.
The best time to climb the hills on the Isle of Skye is usually from mid April till end of May but you can experience a day with decent weather throughout the whole year. My experience is to start after noon since the evenings are usually more calm on Skye.
PLEASE NOTE that climbing this mountain can be very dangerous. It is not a walk and demands scrambling.
Isle of Skye, also known as "Misty Isle", has only few really good days for climbing the higher mountains. The best time is usually from mid April to the end of May, but you can be lucky and experience a great day throughout the whole year. From my experience, it is better to start after noon, since evenings are usually more calm on Skye. Check the forecast before you go! Note that climbing Sgurr Alasdair requires mountain experience. People who suffer from vertigo should not try this. Note that Cuillin ridge can be very dangerous place for people who underestimate it. Weather can change very quickly and navigation is very hard on the ridge. Use proper clothes, shoes and equipment when going to the ridge and be ready for every eventuality.
Bla Bheinn is a magnificent mountain with stunning views. Although it looks very steep, the path up the hill is 99% walk and 1% easy scramble.
