The Dachstein is located in the Salzkammergut in Austria. It’s a great destination for hiking, climbing, and caving.
The cave is open daily from late April to late October at 9.20 a.m. and closing at 3.30 p.m. in 2017 from 29.04. until 10. June and 11.9. until 29.10. In summer from 11.06 until 10.9. the cave is open until 4 p.m.
The cave is located on 1.455-meter above sea level. Therefore, you are dependent on the cable car operating hours from Obertraun on 609-meter above sea level to Schönbergalm section I. The season for the cable car starts end of April and last until late October. The last mountain ascent is at 3 p.m. and in summer at 3.30 p.m. The last valley descent is shortly after 5 p.m. At poor weather conditions, the cable car might not run.
Check the opening hours first
A cave visit is a great option if the weather turns bad but expect more visitors having the same idea. It’s less crowded during nice weather when people think of outdoor activities.
Every year in August unique concerts are held in the Parsifal Dome.

This little via ferrata lies near the town of Bechyne in the south of Bohemia, Czech Republic. It is a training via ferrata with D/E difficulty.
The summer is the best time to visit the ferrata. I would say it is possible to climb it from April till October but it depends on the weather. I recommend to climb it in dry conditions, it is much easier.
The Intersport Klettersteig is a via ferrata in the Gosau region, Austria. It is quite straightforward via ferrata with some great parts.
From June to September
Loser Panorama Klettersteig is a Via Ferrata near the town of Altaussee in northwestern Austria. It is classified D and is quite difficult to climb.
From June to September, it is better to start early in the morning to avoid crowds in summertime
This adventurous and popular via ferrata is a must for Lago di Garda region and refreshing on hot summer days. It last in total around two hours.
Best March to October; check weather conditions and water level first. Morning and evening less crowded.
The Drachenwand Klettersteig is a via ferrata in Austria, near the town of Mondsee. It is classified C/D and is really fun to climb. There is also a part with suspension bridge.
