First and foremost beaches are associated with swimming and sunbathing. Quite a few of them are scenic or outstanding at a special time. Share your favorite beach which you already experienced.
Sweet spot months without the heavy crowds and a high chance of good weather during the wet season are May and October. Both months usually bring warm and sunny conditions with brief rain showers only; often in the afternoon or late evening. There is less humidity in October than during the previous months. However, keep in mind that it's already/still rainy season and the weather can become unpredictable.
December - April (Dry Season)

May - November (Rainy Season)
Wet season with high humidity. The highest rainfall occurs in September. During the rainy season, everything can happen: Typical are days with 1-2 brief showers. You might even get two weeks of almost perfect dry weather or sometimes almost a week of straight rain. If you don't like crowds at all and can deal with unpredictable weather and rain, this is your season. Preferably not September, which is the wettest month. In the rainy season, no tourist crowds spoil the experience. It’s also the green season when beautiful fauna comes to life. Helpful weather overview: Krabi Monthly Weather
High season is from November/December until April. Expect massive crowds here and almost every else in Krabi. Accommodation rates start climbing in November. The only chance to avoid the crowds is either come early morning or even better spend two nights here.
Where to Stay at Railay
There are a number of accommodations around Railay. It's more convenient if you stay at Railay West or private transport is included. Our #1 choice is the Railay Village Resort perfectly situated in the heart of Railay offers privacy despite the busy location. Another excellent choice is the Rayavadee remote located offers a first class service. Shuttle from the airport to the 5* hotel is organized by the resort.

Tips for Boat Trips (during high season)
Longboats are operating from 8 am to 6 pm. daily. Go at a different time than most others. Either very early by taking the very first boat or book sunset trips. The beach starts to fill up quickly after 10 am, and midday is the worst; it's difficult to enjoy the beautiful scenery with so many other people. Another alternative is to go out on a diving or fishing boat. It's more expensive, but they are more comfortable and usually welcome non-divers as well as non-fishing passengers. They also take less traveled routes and visit less busy locations which are excellent for snorkeling. We'd booked a sunset tour with included dinner on the vessel of our resort the Aonang Fiore. We highly recommend a cruise along the coast, Railay Beach, to Poda Island, and Chicken Island.

After stormy weather, especially in spring and autumn you may find larger pieces of amber. For relaxing at the beach and other outdoor activities you may prefer the warmer summer time.
The park is open from mid-May until mid-October but still accessible in off-season (see main text below) and an amazing experience. However, the place is usually swarmed with tourists.

Avoiding Tourist Crowds
Time of Day: Go very early at sunrise. It's even quieter before they open (9 am / 8 am) or visit after the park is closed. Check the tide table first: Hopewell Rocks Tide Tables Please be careful: Outside of operating hours there is no staff to advise you regarding safety and you visit at your own risk. However, all other safety measures like cables and signs are in place regardless of the time of day. The only exception is during off-season from mid-October until mid-May: The safety measures are not in place during these months.
Season/Months: Peak tourist season with heavy crowds is from mid-June/July till August. In September it thins out a little but still can be busy as it is the preferred travel month for seniors. SWEET SPOT months with mild weather and less crowds are END OF MAY, BEGINNING OF JUNE and END OF SEPTEMBER until OCTOBER. You might even visit in the winter and enjoy real solitude. But please keep in mind that a walk can be very slippery and icy. Plus, the safety measures are not in place and it can become dangerous.

Praia do Meco is our favorite beach at Costa da Caparica. It's always worth to visit. Even during winter temps are often pleasant around 14°C - 18°C. Summer; July and August are super busy and quite hot. May, September, and October are the very best months regarding the temperature and the crowds. It's sunny, quiet, and fewer people visit the beach. Be careful with the currents; sometimes heavy waves occur.
Where to Eat at Praia do Meco
Both available restaurants are awesome, but we prefer the Onda Azul Restaurant. They offer great Polvo salad, amêijoas à bulhão pato (mussels with coriander - bigger and better from April until September) and fresh fish grilled. During the low season (winter), the restaurant is open at weekends only.
May, June and September it is less crowded. If you go by car morning and afternoon are more enjoyable. Daily boat tours are offered from mid May until mid September from Kissamos. It's only a short stop at Balos. In spring many different flowers are in bloom.
